Banqiao by Day.
Previously, I wrote about a quick trip I paid to Banqiao at night by mistake. I went back again the next day, on my way to Taipei, to see how the place looked during the day.

Banqiao has some reasonable green area nearby the HSR, MRT and train/bus terminals.

Banqiao’s late afternoon appearance is nice; unfortunately, probably due to pollutants in the air.
There are some nice water features to be found in the area surrounding the transport terminals, if you don’t mind walking past lots of huge buildings, construction work and gigantic scooter parks.

This fountain is extremely close to the train station exit (west side, I think).

This mysterious red thing that, err, pukes water, can be found on the east side.

But you’ll see a lot of this as you walk around.

Near the water fountain, you can find this giant roller-rink.
If you live in Taipei, you might it to be a nice way to spend an afternoon sometime - do a little shopping in Banqiao (they have a giant $10 store), have a picnic in the tree area, look at the water features. If you have kids, they can zoom around on the roller rink and there is also a very reasonable children’s playpark too.
And most of this is just a few hundred metres walk from the MRT/train station.
